MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
Companies Membership
All the Members under the category, Companies, entitled to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting and, in the case of any other meeting, by a majority in number of the Members, under the category, Companies, having a right to attend and vote at the meeting, being a majority together representing not less than 95 percent of the total voting rights of all the Members entitled to attend and vote at the meeting.
1. Founding Members / Life Corporate Members
The nature of Founding Members and Life Corporate Members is one of the three types of membership under the category, Companies, namely Johnson Controls (HK) Ltd., Deson Technology Holdings Ltd. and Nixon Technology Company Ltd are of Founding Members and Yau Lee Holdings Limited is joined as Life Corporate Members. The Membership is permanent.
2. Corporate Members
Under the category, Companies, corporate membership is also permanent and the number of Corporate Members is limited to SIX (6) which shall come from leading real property developers, property management companies, property consultancies, architects, engineers and related business. Every Corporate Member shall pay an initial contribution upon joining as prescribed by the Council but shall not be required to pay any annual subscription.
3. Ordinary Members
Ordinary membership under the category, Companies, needs renewal on an annual basis. The number of Ordinary Members is unlimited, which shall come from leading real property developers, property management companies, property consultancies, architects, engineers and related business. Every Ordinary Member shall pay annual subscription fee. Six Ordinary Members under the category, Companies will be elected to become voting members of the Council at each Annual General Meeting. The election is conducted by a vote among voting members of the Council, excluding voting members elected from the Ordinary Members under the category, Companies.
Individuals Membership
Under the category, Individual, all Individual Members shall be proposed or modified by the Executive Committee and finally approved by the Council. Individual member shall have no voting right in all General Meetings
1. Honorary Fellows
Honorary Fellowship is permanent and can use the title of Hon FAIIB. Honorary Fellows shall be entitled to all the benefits and privileges of membership except that they shall not be qualified to be members of the Council, or to vote as members.
2. Fellows
Fellows should have 20 Years Institution-Approved Years. They can use the title of FAIIB. The annual subscription fee is HK$800.
3. Members
Members should have 12 Years Institution- Approved Years. They can use the title MAIIB. The annual subscription fee is HK$500.
4. Associates
Associates should have 8 Years Institution-Approved Years. They can use the title AAIIB. The annual subscription fee is HK$250.
5. Graduates Members
Graduates Members should be Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate Graduate. The annual subscription fee is HK$100.
6. Student Members
Student Members should be undergraduate of Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate Course. The annual subscription fee is HK$50.
*Notes for Institution-Approved (I-A) Years:
- Corporate Membership of Professional Bodies = 12 I-A Years
- University Degree = 6 I-A Years
- Higher Diploma/ High Certificate = 4 I-A Years
- 1 year building technology & design related working experience = 1 I-A Year

AIIB facilitates Members of the Companies category to place their advertisement on our website (at the service charge to be agreed), the contents of the advertisement is subject to approval of the Executive Committee at its sole discretion:

AIIB hosts its AGM and the Annual Dinner each year for its Members. The Annual Dinner is complimentary for members of the Executive Committee and for representative members under the category of Companies Membership, which include Founding, Corporate and Ordinary Members. Other Members under the category of Individual Membership are invited to join at a membership discounted rate.

A copy of most recent version of Intelligent Building Index (IBI), while stock lasts, will be provided for Members free of charge when joining the Institute. Other AIIB publishing will also be supplied at discounted price or no cost to Members as and when appropriate.

Companies Members are allowed to place complimentary Job Vacancy notices on our website, the contents of the notices is subject to approval of the Executive Committee at its sole discretion.

Except Graduate and Student Members, AIIB Members are eligible to attend “Authorized Auditor Training Course” to qualify for being an Authorized Intelligent Buildings Auditor.
